Dr Whiting on Dangerous Drugs

September 6th, 2010 -- Posted in cholesterol medications | 10 Comments »

Dr Whiting on Dangerous Drugs. Modern medicine has sadly, become almost totally drug driven. Many of these dangerous drugs are over-prescribed. This has and will continue to cause many problems for patients. Many drugs have dangerous side effects and when combined with other drugs, they can be deadly. Some of the most common drugs that have been or should be removed from the market include the digestive drugs prilosec and nexium. Prilosec and nexium so completely destroy stomach acids that protein digestion and mineral absorption are almost impossible. Prilosc and nexium, among other similar prescription and over the counter ant-acids solve the digestive problem in the worst possible way. Prilosec and nexium destroy natural stomach acids, which in turn prevents the formation of key enzymes needed for the digestion of foods. There are natural alternatives to these dangerous drugs. Athritis drugs such as Celebex remain on the market in spite of the overwhelming evidence that it greatly increases your risk of heart disease and gallbladder disorders. Celebrex, like Vioxx and Bextra, which were removed from the market, should also be gone. Celebrex, Vioxx and Bextra all greatly increase your risk of heart disease and other disorders. Taking Celebrex, Vioxx or Bextra have already caused thousands of potentially deadly health problems. Since there is a natural alternative to drugs like Celebrex, Vioxx and Bextra that can regulate inflammation, the use of these dangerous drugs is unwise. Statin drugs, a group of drugs designed to regulate cholesterol levels in the blood are also one of the most dangerous groups of drugs. In fact Statin drug users are required to take routine blood tests to check for permanent liver damage. Since the liver is responsible for regulating cholesterol in the first place, taking Statin drugs makes little logical sense. The Statin drug Crestor, like many others, can greatly increase your risk for heart disease. In fact Crestor at just 200 mg per day, a low dose, can increase your risk of heart disease by 50 percent. A dose of Crestor at400 mg per day increases your risk of developing a heart problem by over 100% !!! Natural alternatives that help detoxify and nourish the liver, make the use of these dangerous Statins unnecessary in most cases. Diabetes is the number one epidemic disease in the world, with a new case being diagnosed every 30 seconds!!! Drug companies have worked overtime to find drugs that will treat the diabetic but not cure them. Dangerous Drugs like Avandia and Januvia are among those new drugs. Januvia one of the newest, has serious side effects already and Avandia has proven to be far more dangerous than any potential benefit. Drugs such as Avandia and Januvia can increase insulin production, the very last thing most type II diabetics need. By using Avandia and Januvia you put further stress on the beta cells of the pancreas as well as the insulin receptor site cells. As long as doctors continue to prescribe such dangerous and ineffective drugs like Avandia and Januvia, diabetics will never gain control over their disorder and will certainly never get well. Our natural alternatives to these dangerous drugs have helped thousands of diabetics to lead a normal, healthy life with normal blood sugar and insulin levels.

Product Review (Lustrasilk Olive Oil Cholesterol, Quantum gel, Giovanni L A Natural gel)

August 23rd, 2010 -- Posted in cholesterol | 25 Comments »

Day 24 of “No Cone” Challenge

As a curly girl, when looking for a gel to define & hold your curls, a clear one is preferable; It’s the last product you put into your hair before it dries; and you want your own color to shine through (white or yellow-tinted gel can leave a film on hair &, over time, make it look dull). If the gel feels sticky on your skin, it will feel sticky on your hair. Look for a gel that doesn’t contain alcohol and that has little to no fragrance. It should contain the ingredients PVP (polyvinylpyrrolidone) and PVP/VA (vinyl acrylate).

Both the Quantum & Giovanni L.A. Natural styling gels do not contain alcohol, and they both contain the PVP ingredients. The Quantum also has Glycerin, Sorbitol & Aloe gel, but the Giovanni L.A. Natural has many natural ingredients such as: Rosemary Oil, Nettle oil, Thyme Oil, Birch Leaf oil, Chamomile oil, Clary, Lavender, Coltsfoot leaf, Yarrow oil, Mallow, Horsetail oil, Soybean Protein, Vitamin E, & Grapefruit Seed

As a curly girl, when looking for a conditioner (preferably a no-cone one), the conditioner should contain Emollients to reduce frizz by smoothing cuticle; Proteins to coat hair & protect it; Humectrants to absorb water & hold in moisture; & Moisturizers to add softness & control curly hair.

The Lustrasilk Olive Oil cholesterol contained all 4 of the absolute necessities in a conditioner. I do have to say that the Lustrasilk Olive Oil Cholesterol left my hair very soft, and the Giovann L.A. Natural styling gel side felt softer than the Quantum styling gel side. I will later do full reviews on both gels separately.

examples of Emollients: shea butter, veggie oils, wheat germ, olive oil, walnut oil

examples of Proteins: wheat, wheat germ, soy protein

examples of Humectrants: panthenol, veggie glycerine, sorbitol

examples of Moisturizers: amino acids, aloe vera

Some of the information I provided was obtained from “Curly Girl, the handbook” by Lorraine Massey with Deborah Chiel. I just purchased this book from Borders today, and I must say, the information contained in this book is AWESOME!
