I’m a 30 year old male, about 10 pounds overweight and want to speed up my metabolism. Breakfast has not been a part of my weekly routine for over a decade, but I thought that if I have instant oatmeal in the morning, it will be at least something as well as lower cholesterol. But is it as effective as regular oatmeal? Of course I plan to include exercise as well as eating better to shed the 10 pounds.
Instant is better than cereal, but steel cut oatmeal is best. Instant is prepared, and typically has sugar, etc. in it.
You can prepare Steel cut oatmeal on the weekend or the night before, then divide it into 1/2 cup portions and add a tbsp or two of fresh or fresh-frozen fuit.
The best way to speed up your metabolism is to eat 6 small, clean meals every day. Don’t eat sugar … or any sweeteners… drink water rather than soda.
Also, try to work up to jogging 40 minutes 4x a week before work. Reduce your calorie intake by 10%… reducing more will make it harder to lose weight. Doing some weight training will also increase metabolism.
If you can, try cutting out diary, wheat, and starch… And try to eat fruit only in the morning.
It may take about 6 weeks to kick start your metabolism, but if you try all of these things, then you should be able to trim off the 10 pounds permanently.

More info: If I lose weight, start exercising and improve my eating habits to lower my cholesterol and blood pressure how do I know it is working if I don’t stop the medication and give the weight loss, exercise and good eating a chance to work? If that will do it I do not want to take the meds.
being out of the blood maybe take a week to two weeks and then it would start being high agian.

My Blood Pressure is sometimes high but not all of the time, for this reason i dont want to take any medication. I heard garlic suppose to be good for blood pressure. Also i have high cholesterol for many years and it does seem to be going down. I dont eat a lot of fat and dont like dairy product (dont drink milk or like cheese). I do however like to drink half a bottle of sweet wine every day.Is this why my cholesterol is so high. Waiting for your reply. Thanks.
Not sure why your Cholesterol is so high, but i would speak to your GP and accept some anti-cholesterol tablets to help you reduce your score.
I would also try to eat oats and lots of fresh vegatables and fruit.
Cholesterol DOES have a part ot play in heart disease, strokes and other conditions. The condition called Atherosclerosis, is when Athroma – fatty deposits caused by cholesterol builds up on the walls of the Arteries and makes them narrow. Should a blood clot occur it will get stuck in the narrowing…. causing problems such as heart attack or stroke.
My advice is to go to the doctor to get some Cholesterol tablets and ask to be referred to a dietician for some advice on what foods are the best to eat.
Good Luck!
